- In het gehucht Boerdonk, omgeving Veghel-Gemert, tijdens een verkenning gesneuveld op 11 mei 1940, toen het verkenningsregiment (verdeeld over de Gruppen Bentele, Vichytil en Lüttwitz) ageerde langs de Zuid-Willemsvaart. Daarbij werd op enkele locaties door Nederlands 6-veld en PAG vuur uitgegeven op pantserwagens en motorhuzaren. Een peloton van drie pantserwagens en enige motorrijders werd bij Boerdonk, op korte afstand van de Zuid-Willemsvaart, door de Nederlanders onder vuur genomen. De commandant van één van de pantserwagens werd daarbij door vuur onthoofd en uit de pantserwagen geslingerd. Een motorrijder zwaar gewond. Beide werden door de snel nadien terugtrekkende Duitsers meegenomen. Gefreiter Kubert was de gedode voertuigcommandant.
- Kubert was killed at the hamlet Boerdonk, in the room Veghel / Gemert, during a recce mission on May 11, 1940, when his regiment (divided over the three taskforces Bentele, Vichytil and Lüttwitz) agressively spearheaded the division along the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal. At some locations Dutch AT and infantry guns duelled with German armour and motorized infantry. Kubert's platoon of three light wheeled AFV's and a few motorbikes was hit by a Dutch volley when it approached the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal south of Veghel. Kubert, who was a commander of one of the AFV's was severly hit in the head, virtually cutting it off of the body, and smashed out of the vehicle. A motorbiker was badly wounded. Both were quickly drawn into one of the other cars whereafter the German recce team retreated.
